Welcome to my website!  I'm Melinda Flurry and I'm glad you're here.

My goal in writing as in life is to strive for an open mind and heart, to be aware of the natural beauty that surrounds us, and to acknowledge the sacred in each person.  We do have more in common than not.  I think most people seek similar goals, the foremost being acceptance and love in its many different forms.

I was born in Louisiana and raised in the South, but as far back as I can remember I heard the wanderer's call.  I followed it just as soon as I could and packed my bags whenever possible.  I travelled extensively and met inspirational people as I explored cultures that were new to me.

 

In Los Angeles I worked in the film industry before moving with my husband to Tennessee where we established a landscaping firm.  Currently I reside in Memphis and live part-time in a North Mississippi Hill Country cabin.  I'm the mother to one flat-out amazing son who is a reporter in New York City.
